Ahhhhh festivals! They're fun as hell, an adventure in themselves, the longest tradition of free love, self expression and live musical phenomenas…but they can also be an epic overkill of fashion clichés and psychedelic marathons. Me? I'm in it for two reasons: the love of the music and the road trip adventure.  

I think the real key to nailing festival style is to be yourself. Don't try to look like everyone else or do what's on trend…what really matters is that you feel good and you're comfortable enough to boogie down all day and all night! Take your favorite pieces from you wardrobe and wear what makes you smile! That's why I was so stoked Teva approached me about sharing my festival/road trip style with their rad flatforms. They're super comfy, perfect for vamping up a casual look, and after all my travels to Japan, have me frothing on their clean lines, funky silhouettes, and ability to pair with socks and dresses (school girl style all the way! yewww!).

Like I said for me its all about the music, which is a huge influence in my personal style as well. I love to rep vintage where I can and all the best decades of music -- 60's mod dresses, 70's cable knit sweaters and ditsy floral dresses, 80's crop tops and stonewash denim jackets, and 90's ripped jeans. With bright colors, a good mix of textures and accessories, fun hair styles and of course the perfect shoe -- you're good to go! No need to overcomplicate or over style, just keep it real. Because as the one and only Bob Marley says, "Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!"

WOW. My heart just skipped a beat. Like five beats actually. 

Madgi's jewellery has always had a sort of mysticism about it...the stones, each picked by hand, carry a magnified radiance due to her passion for crystals and the abundance of love she pours into each and every piece...But captured by the über talented duo Moss + Meadows, these jewels truly transcend all worldly conventions, making Zingara my new favorite lookbook of 2015. The homage to vintage adorned by our ancestors, the honoring of indigenous symbology and iconology, and the featuring of sacred stones such as sugilite, chryosoprase, and Tibetan turquoise are what make Bahgsu Jewels an iconic label to follow. I am always amazed at how Madgi translates the passion for her new collection into a visual masterpiece, thinking at the release of every new lookbook "This is it! She's nailed it!" only to be shocked a few months later when she manages to create an even newer sense of wonderment. This time around, as I lose myself in the magic of Zingara, I can't help but wonder, "how can she top this?!" I have no idea what to expect...but the one thing I do know -- is that she will.

The spirit animal that presented itself during the creation of this collection is the Cobra. This beautiful snake is able to constrict and expand simultaneously. The top of her is strong in her evolution expanding her shape and rising off the earth. The bottom is sturdy, constrictive and strong, rooting to the ground, balanced in her symmetry. This is ZINGARA. She explores the outer world yet holds firm to her inner guidance.

Brought together by a love of surf, sea and all things creative, the ladies behind KASSIA, Summer Bummer, EiR NYC, and AllSwell  have joined forces to create “The Kit”, a zippered neoprene pouch filled with essential items perfectly suited for your next beachy adventure.

It all started with a dream -- a dream of a ladies road trip through unfamiliar lands. Carly had been booked for work in New Zealand for months, but it wasn't until two weeks before she left that I decided to jump on board and take part in the adventure. Neither of us had been to NZ, and so at the end of November 2014, Carly and I embarked on a voyage through the North Island in search of simplicity, serendipity, and of course...swell. We called our journey: 

4 Wheels . 2 Souls. 1 Fin  

We booked a 1969 VW bus and for two weeks we traveled with the beautiful blue "Mystery Machine" as our sanctuary -- her welded cheeks and bright, beady eyes ripe for a good time. She was the epitome of possibility; the tour guide, the prophet. She would lead us into the most beautiful crevasses of lush countryside we had ever seen. We ate, slept, and explored in full Vanlife fashion, never even thinking to book a hotel or venture away from the road. From Shipwrecks Bay to Mount Maunganui, to Raglan back up to Whangamatta, we chased the most beautiful, jade hued wavelets a girl could dream of, thriving in the mobility and freedom our kombi home had to offer. 

It was then that I realized what an epic packer I have become! With life on the road, minimalism is a must and versatility is key. My Amuse Society pieces became standard attire, a uniform of sorts as their functional fit never sacrifices style. Effortless yet edgy, Amuse is the type of label a traveling minx like me lives in...and makes me feel sexy even if I haven't showered in days ;)

I am beyond stoked to be the newest ambassador of the Amuse Society clan, a group of women who, with their hyphenated titles and limitless aspirations, reject conformity and pave their own path of living, who uniquely identify with their femininity, and ooze effortless style and creativity. #BEACHVIDABLING baby!
