Meet Moonjelly ☽✧

Wetsuits / Moonjelly | Bikini / Kokoh Bikini | Bracelets / Pura Vida

I n s p i r e d . That is how I feel after every time I leave Japan. There is a commitment to creativity that thrives in everything -- food, art, style -- and an artfulness that proves synonymous with Japanese culture. So to be approached to collaborate with Japanese wetsuit artisans Moonjelly (cutest name ever...) as they venture into the Australian market is something I feel absolutely honored to be a part of.

With absurd attention to detail and a customized approach to wetsuit building, Moonjelly uses only the best neoprene fabrics to translate your personal style into a wetsuit to own for the next 10+ years. My beautiful friend Maki had to take over 30 measurements to fit mine properly, and without making one request, the designers created an absolute dream print/color scheme while making the softest, most comfortable wetties I've ever owned. Lucky girl I am...

But you can be this lucky too! For the first time ever in Australia, you will have the opportunity to shop Moonjelly Wetsuits next Saturday the 25th at their Tipi Pop Up Shop at the Byron Bay Surf Festival. See the variety of custom prints and colors, have a feel for yourself, get measured, and meet the team looking to dress the Byron lineup.

And if it's bikinis your craving this summer…right next door will be the Kokoh Bikini Pop Up Shop for the latest in bright, cheeky cuts for rocking a perfectly tanned bum :)

------------

I'm so, so, SO excited to release this editorial featuring all the brands coming to the BBSF Tipi Pop Up Block on Saturday 25 October. This is my first job as Creative Director, bringing my vision to life from start to finish. I'd also never produced a fashion shoot other than those for my blog, I have gained so much respect for the behind the scenes work put into place to make shoots possible. Models Lydia Kirwood and Manu Des Fours were absolute legends to work with and having my sister Carly Brown behind the lens was such a treat. With such an epic team, the final result came as no surprise and I'm so happy to share the final product!

As Style + Design Director for the Byron Bay Surf Festival, we have been working non stop for months, hand picking brands from all over the globe to line Apex Park, Main Beach Byron Bay in 18ft. tipis in a parade of Pop Up Shops. This is my second year on the Creative Team for the festival, and I feel so lucky to live in an area where an event like this is possible. Grass roots in nature, the Byron Bay Surf Festival makes forward thinking, sustainable efforts in every way possible. Almost all food stalls are certified organic, market stalls include one of a kind, hand made artisan work, and topics of lecture in the presentation yurts consist of everything from sustainable surfboard shaping, to environmental issues, to surf yoga classes. The Tipi Pop Up Block offers brands the opportunity to connect with the community in a way that is personal, interactive, and a true demonstration of the spectrum of start up to success. Its an incredibly unique weekend of surf culture, lifestyle, and education. Hope to see all your beautiful faces there!

I love styling for Children of the Tribe, it is such an amazing creative opportunity and a chance to do something different than the everyday fashion shoot. When styling for kids, you get to play more around the storyline, the little details are captured with such a dream like innocence. Thanks to everyone involved in this shoot, it was a lot of hard work and it's so exciting to finally be able to release the amazing results!
