• A RETURN TO LOVE •

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of {The Universe}. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to s h i n e, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of {the light} within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light s h i n e, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. |||

I'm pretty sure I've posted this quote by Marianne Williamson at least once, maybe twice before. But I just feel it can never be shared enough. Such an amazing mantra and positive affirmation to live by and I seemingly always am reminded of when I need it the most. It takes courage to see your full potential and go for it. Just remember to always. . .

L I V E  I N  T H E  L I G H T.

My last day in Byron Bay was spent from dawn til dusk feeling absolutely liberated in the ocean with my soul sister Carly Brown. Time dissipated along with all cares, worries and fears -- and I could have had plenty without having packed a thing :\ Two girls just frothing to have a water housing, we swam and surfed and styled, shared heaps of laughs and just had fun. It felt good to let go and enjoy the wonderful wavelets the gorgeous Passage had to offer.

I knew I wanted to do this shoot with Carly after working on the Lisa's Closet  Spring '13 Lookbook
<<<||| She Who Howls |||>>> When I Lisa's new range and her incredible use of fabric, color and silhouette I knew they would look so beautiful wind blown and water bound. I was especially enamored with the flow of the kimonos, mixed with the beautiful brights of Reef Swim and only the best up-cycled denim known to (wo)man {Wild and Free}...magic was bound to be made. With no expectations we arrived to the beach with perfect Pass peelers to experiment and play. My log was a bit out of commission (to say the least) and Eden was sweet enough to lend me this beautiful Dead Kooks 9'4" Babi, a board that was surprisingly light and thrived on the daintiness of female footsteps.

The results of this day will remain even more magical in my mind than what may appear in these gorgeous snaps from Carly.

Big love to you sister...can't wait to be reunited in Aus soon enough xxx

Zulu & Zephyr

WOAH. Holy Hotness.
Zulu & Zephyr :: Everything about this label describes why I love Australian Swim design.

Fun Fact: 90% of the Australian population live by the coast? 90%! That means designers in this country know swimwear because they themselves are living in constantly and they know how to do it right.

From playful prints to sexy silhouettes, Zulu & Zephyr are on point with every suit they create. Not to mention their ready to wear pieces are equally as beautiful, effortless and eye catching. There's just a level of sophistication to their aesthetic that I really love as well, bringing back the high wasted, retro swim bottoms and tailored jackets and bustier tops. This line to me screams Briggite Bardot meets a modern 2013 with an ethnic twist. So stoked to be back in Oz in time for summer and bikini weather!

Byron Town // A Play Date with Lisa's Closet

It all started with a Malaysian love affair. Two girls, stuck on a train when they should be on a plane headed back to Byron Bay from Bali. But due to delayed flights, a skanky hotel and divine intervention, a friendship was born. More like two kindred spirits, separated by time and space and origin reunited by fate and faith and fashion.

I could tell right away the depth of our sisterly bond but never did I anticipate the limitless degree of our creative potential. We've been working hard throughout the week, prepping and styling a few different photoshoots for her new collection, including a Gypsea Love x Lisa's Closet collab spanning the full repertoire of Lisa's line mixed in with a few key pieces from my wardrobe (that I bet you have too!) for a stunning editorial style Ready To Wear Guide. Seriously cannot wait to share that one.

But  in between work we definitely had some time for play,  and as I should've guessed, Lisa befriends equally as beautiful, talented, and creative women as herself.  I felt so lucky to be introduced to more exquisite, soulful females whose friendships I now cherish and who inspire me artistically on so many levels. Celeste of Celeste Twikler Jewelry not only creates stunning, one of a kind "salty, nomadic" inspired pieces but is an incredible illustrator and her house looks straight out of an Anthropologie catalog. Spending time in her beautiful space was like going to a museum: everywhere you turned you found something new and inspiring and all you want to do is take a million photos! with an extra dose of cozy and full of loving energy of course. And Carly Brown (who is responsible for the gorgeous photos above) is yet another friend who came to play who, with her humble smile, discreetly hides a world of talent, experience and style that seems to flow organically and effortlessly.  And did I mention these Byron babes surf?! Talk about a match made in heaven. Together, the 4 of us had nothing short of a blast, and I look forward to so many more playful days with these rad ladies.
