FRIENDS, ALLIES, AND THOSE WHO ARE UNITED . . .

||| LAKOTA JEWELLERY |||

When energies align it can be a truly beautiful thing.
It was as though Steph was fully aware of my obsession with turquoise before sending me the most beautiful package from her up and coming label, Lakota Jewellery.
Delicate and feminine enough for the understated girl, these beautiful hand crafted pieces can also be stacked and layered for a more bold approach to accessorizing. The neutral color pallet is a beach-goers dream on sun kissed skin, and the turquoise adds the perfect pop paired back to an earth tone story.
My favorite part of these simple yet elegant jewels is in the details. Whether it be the ocean-inspired shell charms to reconnect to the sea, the silver beading for shimmer and a light reflection, or the Hamsa Hand symboligy for protection, Lakota Jewellery has deep roots from which the aesthetic is derived.
Having had a passion for design and metal work since the 14, designer and silversmith Steph Brownfield has had a natural ability that has helped her her line grow and develop since 2011. Reigning from Perth, Australia she had quick success at local boutiques and farmers markets and has since followed her heart in taking Lakota to the next level. Each piece is handmade in her own silver workshop with the intention of creating beautiful, affordable pieces inspired by the things she loves for the people she loves.

A RETURN TO LOVE •

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of {The Universe}. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to s h i n e, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of {the light} within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light s h i n e, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. |||

I'm pretty sure I've posted this quote by Marianne Williamson at least once, maybe twice before. But I just feel it can never be shared enough. Such an amazing mantra and positive affirmation to live by and I seemingly always am reminded of when I need it the most. It takes courage to see your full potential and go for it. Just remember to always. . .

L I V E  I N  T H E  L I G H T.

My last day in Byron Bay was spent from dawn til dusk feeling absolutely liberated in the ocean with my soul sister Carly Brown. Time dissipated along with all cares, worries and fears -- and I could have had plenty without having packed a thing :\ Two girls just frothing to have a water housing, we swam and surfed and styled, shared heaps of laughs and just had fun. It felt good to let go and enjoy the wonderful wavelets the gorgeous Passage had to offer.

I knew I wanted to do this shoot with Carly after working on the Lisa's Closet  Spring '13 Lookbook
<<<||| She Who Howls |||>>> When I Lisa's new range and her incredible use of fabric, color and silhouette I knew they would look so beautiful wind blown and water bound. I was especially enamored with the flow of the kimonos, mixed with the beautiful brights of Reef Swim and only the best up-cycled denim known to (wo)man {Wild and Free}...magic was bound to be made. With no expectations we arrived to the beach with perfect Pass peelers to experiment and play. My log was a bit out of commission (to say the least) and Eden was sweet enough to lend me this beautiful Dead Kooks 9'4" Babi, a board that was surprisingly light and thrived on the daintiness of female footsteps.

The results of this day will remain even more magical in my mind than what may appear in these gorgeous snaps from Carly.

Big love to you sister...can't wait to be reunited in Aus soon enough xxx
